15 Heroes Who Fought for Every Life in the Australian Bushfires

More than 1 billion animals have died in the recent bushfires in Australia. These numbers are devastating and immense. One good thing that has come out of this is the people, and even the animals, who haven’t just stood on the sidelines and watched, but have continued helping each other.

We at Bright Side hope that Australia will heal its wounds as soon as possible and want to show you 15+ heroes who are well aware that there is no such thing as an insignificant life.

The ladies of the Australian Islamic Centre traveled 4 hours with 5 trucks of food to cook breakfast for exhausted Australian firefighters.

2 teens are driving around the fire-affected areas and rescuing koalas to deliver them to hospitals.

Courtney Orrin, an elementary school teacher, is also a volunteer firefighter.

This border collie saved a flock of 900 sheep from the raging bushfires by herding them away from the danger.

This woman went around in search of injured animals and rescued this little guy.

A volunteer firefighter rescues a possum with burns that was fleeing a fire on the outskirts of a small town.

After having found some baby orphaned bats and comforting them in special wraps, these girls created more of such wraps for injured animals.

The names of many vets and ordinary people who are helping animals remain unknown, but every act of mercy counts.

Dehydrated animals are everywhere. Here is another koala being given water by firefighters:

Crisis Response Specialists have just rescued this koala and are checking it for injuries.

The late Steve Irwin’s family is working hard to help as many animals as possible. They have already saved more than 90,000 animals.

Many animals show gratitude to their saviors in a very sincere way.

Julie Willis and Gary Wilson have provided shelter for about 50-60 kangaroos, by creating special pouches for them.

An injured possum is given water by firefighters.

Many celebrities have donated money to help the devastated area and the animals.

Chris Hemsworth and his family donated $1 million

Elton John contributed the same amount.

Not only did Russell Crowe donate money, but he also missed his Golden Globes 2020 award because he stayed in Australia to help out.

Nicole Kidman, Pink, Maria Sharapova, Kylie Jenner, and many more are also on the list.

Bonus: An artist honors the animals who died in the bushfires with a work of art in the sand.

We admire all these heroes who’ve shown their support and who haven’t stayed indifferent. Every little act of kindness matters. And we are happy that the heavens have finally opened in Australia and that rain has started to put out the raging bushfires.
