Families could bag a cruise holiday for free – but they’re going to have to prove they’re excited enough.
Royal Caribbean has revealed it will be accepting payment for a holiday in excitement instead of cash, and paying one family up to £10,000 back for their holiday.
Entering the draw is easy; the cruise line is simply asking families in the UK and Ireland to share their kids’ excitement when told they are going on the Royal Caribbean holiday.
Now, let’s be clear to avoid any awkward family arguments; you need to have booked a Royal Caribbean holiday already to be eligible.
If you haven’t, you’re not eligible to get the cost back – and it could make for some serious sulking/disappointment! (Or you’ll end up having to book the dream cruise you’ve promised them anyway).
Parents are being asked to film their children’s reaction when they find out they’re off on a cruise, and upload the adorable video to Instagram or Facebook, tagging @RoyalCaribbeanUK with #PayByExcitement.
You can also upload the video on Twitter tagging @MyRoyal with #PayByExcitement on Twitter.
Applications are open until February 2020, with the shortlist revealed on the 11th February, before the winner is announced on the 14th. (The winning family will receive the cost of their holiday back in full by March).
If your family doesn’t win, there are still prizes to bag, with six runners up set to receive a free onboard speciality dining package for the whole family, so they can dine in style for every night of their trip.
The kids of the winning family will also be appointed ‘SEO-E-Os’ (Chief Excitement Officers) at Royal Caribbean, and will be asked to report their favourite highlights from the trip directly to Royal Caribbean boss Ben Boudin.
The cruise company revealed it came up with the ‘Pay by Excitement’ concept after the rising trend of ‘reveal videos’ online, where families go to great lengts to surprise their children with thrilling news that they are off on holiday.
