Jose Mourinho shows off dramatic new look as Tottenham manager shaves head

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has shocked fans during the winter break – by shaving off his hair!

The Portuguese manager was pictured by his barber as he showed off his dramatic new look.

Mourinho was in the dugout with his grey hair intact as he guided his side to a comeback win against Southampton in their FA Cup fourth round replay on Wednesday.

But, on Friday evening, a photo appeared on Instagram with his locks completely gone in a photo shared by @hak_tev.

The post was captioned: “Jose Mourinho always fearless goes all the way with his haircut” as he posed alongside the former Manchester United and Chelsea boss.

Mourinho famously opted for a number three crew-cut ahead of the 2006/07 season as Chelsea manager.

He declared it showed his side were “ready to go to war” and they went on to win nine games out of 11 to start the Premier League campaign.

He also admitted to stealing Fernando Torres’ clippers to cut his hair himself during the 2012/13 season.

He said: “I did it myself. I asked Fernando [Torres] to give me his machine and I did it myself in front of the mirror.

“It is nice and it is cheap. In a couple of months I will have hair again. Some people can’t do it.”

When he sported thinner hair at a press conference in 2014/15 as Manchester United manager, Mourinho denied it was due to his stress at Old Trafford.

“I promise you I am fine – but I am not happy. I am not used to losing so many times but I am adapting to the challenge,” he said, as per the Belgravia Centre.

“My haircut isn’t as radical as it has been… the war haircut is shorter than this one”.

There is also a hint of irony about Mourinho’s hair loss.

In 2014, he mocked Pep Guardiola for losing his hair, putting it down to the stresses of management.

He told BILD: If you enjoy what you’re doing, you don’t lose your hair. He’s got a bald head. Guardiola doesn’t enjoy football.”
