Gabriel Magalhaes pursuit
Arsenal are plotting a £30million deal for Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Sun claim Arsenal will target Magalhaes of Lille, having failed with an inquiry during January along with Everton.
The 22-year-old Brazilian could cost up to £30m, having cost the French side £1.5m three years ago.
Arsenal have previous with Lille, having negotiated a deal to sign Nicolas Pepe last summer for a club-record £72m.
Wanted: Orkun Kokcu
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants a deal wrapped up for Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu as early as possible before Euro 2020.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim Arsenal scouts have been extensively scouting the Turkey Under 21 international.
Kokcu, 19, has scored three goals and provided four assists in 29 appearances for Feyenoord in all competitions.
His current deal keeps him at the Dutch club until 2023, but the report claims Feyenoord are prepared to sell the youngster for £15million in the summer.
Kokcu is expected to be included in Turkey’s Euro 2020 squad and Arsenal chiefs are concerned his performances on the international stage could attract more attention and inflate his valuation.
Bernd Leno warning
Arsenal star Bernd Leno has had to deal with a seemingly continuously changing back four ahead of him this season, as the Gunners struggle to deal with injuries.
And while boss Mikel Arteta has managed to add Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari to his squad in the January window, the German goalkeeper has warned them they cannot waste time adjusting to life the club.
“I don’t know the players, but I think they have the quality to join Arsenal,” Leno said. “With them we have more options.
“Mari is left footed, so as a centre-back that is a good option. Hopefully they adapt very quickly to Arsenal.”
Europa League changes
Arsenal have included January transfer window signings Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari to their squad for the Europa League.
Soares and Mari joined the Gunners on loan and head coach Mikel Arteta is hopeful they can provide experience and depth to the defence.
UEFA rules allow clubs to add a maximum of three new eligible players to their squad and Arsenal have registered Soares and Mari.
They have also included Eddie Nketiah, who returned to the club last month after his loan spell at Leeds.
Kai Havertz advice
Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz should ignore the advances from Bayern Munich.
That’s the opinion of Germany legend Michael Ballack, who doesn’t think the highly-coveted 20-year-old is ready for the challenge just yet.
“At Bayern you need other characteristics to assert yourself. Just being good is not enough there,” Ballack told Sport1.
“Havertz needs time and the robustness to be mentally prepared for Bayern. He is still in the development phase and still has mistakes in his game.”
Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been credited with interest in the attacking midfielder, who is valued at £84million.
