Royal revelation: Queen decides to let Beatrice and Eugenie pick up the Sussexes workload | Royal | News

The search to find replacements for Meghan and Harry has proved an immediate focus for the Queen according to a courtier who spoke with the Daily Mail. Despite alleged protestations from Prince Charles for a “slimmed down monarchy”, the Queen would like Beatrice and Eugenie to begin attending public outings.

An insider said: “The Royal Family has already become slimmed down with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex giving up public duties.

“As the older members of the family retire, it will become slimmer still, so there are spaces to be filled.

“His Royal Highness is very fond of his nieces and would not stand in the way if they did want to carry out more duties.”

The revelation comes after Beatrice, 31, announced her wedding date to financier Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The nuptials are planned for May 29, and are said to be being held in Chapel Royal at St James Palace, with a later reception planned at Buckingham Palace.

Chapel Royal is famous for being the setting for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s wedding in 1840.

An intimate space, the chapel can only hold up to 150 guests, and it is said to be an indicator of the low-key occasion.

Her sister’s wedding was streamed by ITV back in 2018, but there are no current plans to showcase Beatrice’s big day.

Meghan has gained herself a legion of fans since joining the Royal Family, and female prisoners told a stunned Duchess of Cornwall that they have been writing to Prince Harry’s wife.

Camilla was visiting HMP Downview in south London to meet with chefs, seamstress, and photographic shop workers to hear how outside companies are working with staff to improve the lives of inmates.

Once inside the prison library, Camilla chatted to the organisers of the Penned Up literary festival, which is in its second year at Downview.

A prisoner told Camilla: “A lot of the people who have joined Penned Up have been incarcerated too.

“It’s good for ladies like us to see that so that when we go back out into the public we can succeed.

“When we write to these people we’re trying to get people who will inspire us.

“One was Meghan – so we can aim high.”

Although the women have admitted that they are yet to hear back from Meghan, according to the Evening Standard, who has been busy starting her new “independent’ life over in Canada.
