Finsbury Park tube station was closed shortly after 7.00am this morning after a fire reportedly broke out.
Commuters reported smells of “burning” and saw smoke coming from the platform.
One person wrote on Twitter: “Any news about the fire at Finsbury Park just been chocked because of the fumes! No warning on Piccadilly line about the fire and had to get off at Manor House where again there was all smoke!”
Another person reported that five fire engines and police had arrived at the busy tube station.
Manor Park tube station, the next stop on the Piccadilly line, has also been closed, with commuters reporting smoke is also present.
Transport for London has the station has now reopened, but there is severe disruption on the Victoria and Piccadilly lines after the fire alert.
A TfL spokesman said: “London Underground tickets are accepted on Greater Anglia, Great Northern, London Overground, South Western Railway and Southeastern services.”
